Depop Concept Project: Designing A Brand New Rental Feature

1 — Problem

Depop does not have the research or information on their latest business direction - Combat fast-fashion and waste in the fashion industry. The company does not have an existing feature that supports this.

2 — Solution

Our team’s created and designed a new Rental feature for Depop users. We submitted a high-fidelity prototype as our end product.

User Interviews: 8

Design Iterations: 5-6 (low-hi fidelity screens)

Usability Tests: 4

3 — My Role

This was a collaborative project with 2 other UX Designers. We conducted interviews, synthesized results and testing as a group, and worked closely together throughout the design process all the way to delivery.

I took the lead on the Discovery phase and lead in managing the overall project involving the project planning, documentation, tracking and communication. I also guided my team on building the final presentation deck before the delivery of our final hi-fidelity prototype.

4 — Duration

2 week design sprint

5 — Impact

Customers were comfortable renting from Depop because of the information provided on the Renter’s profile. They found that renting their clothes was more forgiving and empathetic than other rental websites, which allowed them to trust that their best interest as a customer was always considered.
